Tofu Buffalo Bites

I did it. Tofu Buffalo Bites. Oh Em Gee…Yes, I said that. These are just so tasty! These are actually pretty simple to make, and I kept these gluten free also.

You’ll need an extra firm block of organic tofu, some Frank’s Hot Sauce, some tapioca starch and some crushed Corn Flakes and you are good to go! I found these corn flakes already crushed in the baking department at my local grocery store, over by the bread crumbs.

  1. Drain and press your tofu for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut tofu into cubes (bite size pieces)
  3. Put tofu into a dish and cover with Frank's Hot Sauce. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non stick foil.
  5. Put your tapioca starch in a bowl and your corn flakes into another bowl. In yet another bowl, add about a cup of Frank's Hot Sauce.
  6. Take each piece of tofu out of the marinade and directly roll into the tapioca flour, then straight into the Frank's Hot sauce.
  7. Then, roll in the crushed corn flakes until fully coated and place onto baking sheet.
  8. Clean out your Frank's Hot Sauce bowl and add about another cup of fresh hot sauce into the bowl.
  9. Take each piece of tofu and roll once again in Frank's Hot Sauce, making sure they are fully coated and then put them back onto the baking sheet.
  10. Bake for a full 40 minutes, checking at 20 minutes just for kicks. (to make sure your oven isn't burning them..as all ovens differ)
  11. Before serving, roll once more in Frank's Hot Sauce and put on plate. Enjoy.
