Quick Vegan Naan Pizza

I love to make things from scratch and I do love to take my time and let things cook and be present. It is my form of meditation. However, sometimes there is a need to do things a little bit more quickly. It can still be a meditative experience if you’d like. I think it is so important to put your love, energy, and presence into all of the food that you make for yourself, for your family, and for your friends. It just tastes better!

These pizzas are made using vegan Naan bread. Be sure to check your ingredients before purchasing, as always!

I use LightLife Gimme Lean Ground Sausage Style as well.

I use Campari tomatoes for my pizzas. They are small, ripe & delicious. You can get them from Walmart or Costco.

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a skillet, place about half to one tbsp of olive oil. Wetting your fingers, take out pieces of the sausage and roll into small balls. Sautee them in the pan until browned. Set aside.
  3. Take 4 pieces of Naan Bread. Brush them lightly with olive oil, even over the edges.
  4. Lay 4 thin slices of tomatoes on top of that, spaced nicely.
  5. Sprinkle a mixture of the two cheeses lightly over the naan. You don't want this to be extreme cheese pizza.
  6. Lightly sprinkle the onion, spreading the onion pieces out nicely.
  7. Sprinkle the sausage pieces.
  8. Next, put your mushrooms on.
  9. If you want, add a bit more cheese, lightly, on top.
  10. Sprinkle generously with the oregano. If you've never tried it before, take my word for it and do this. Don't be shy. This is an important step.
  11. Reduce the oven heat to 425. Place the pizzas directly onto the middle rack of your oven. Place a cookie sheet on a level below to catch any drippings. (There probably will not be any drippings as cheese has been LIGHT, but, just in case.)
  12. Set the timer for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven when cheese has melted and edges are browned.
  13. I take a cookie sheet and with an oven mitt pull out rack halfway. With a cookie sheet in one hand and a spatula in the other, I gently pull the pizzas onto the cookie sheet.
  14. Pile each leaf of basil on top of eachother and then roll. Cut thin slices from one side to the other. This will create thin strips of basil.
  15. Sprinkle your finished pizza with the basil strings.
  16. Enjoy!

    Do you have a recipe or brand for the Naan? Naan bread is made with yogurt usually.

      This brand is Reya from Costco. There are no animal products. This is why you must carefully read the ingredients on pretty much everything. :)
